Laurus nobilis is an aromatic evergreen tree or large shrub with green, glabrous leaves. It is widely grown as an ornamental plant in Mediterranean or oceanic climates, and as a houseplant or greenhouse plant in cold regions. The refreshing aroma of Bay Leaf oil pairs well with a variety of citrus oils, including Bergamot oil, Lemon oil, and Wild Orange oil.

Laurel Leaf Essential Oil has a spicy, sweet, dark green aroma. This oil can help stimulate the senses and give confidence and encouragement to the mind and body. Bay Leaf can also support a healthy respiratory system, which can help relieve congestion and even stimulate appetite.

The most abundant component in laurel essential oil is 1,8-cineol, also called eucalyptol. The leaves contain about 1.3% essential oil (ol. lauri folii) composed of 45% eucalyptol, 12% other terpenes, 8-12% terpinyl acetate, 3-4% sesquiterpenes, 3% methyleugenol and other α- and β-. pinenes, phellandrene, linalool, geraniol and terpineol.[36] It also contains lauric acid.
