Oregano Essential Oil is obtained by oregano leaves. After drying, the oil is extracted by steam distillation. In fact, these dried leaves can be denser than fresh. Generally, it has a hot and slightly bitter taste that can vary in intensity. Moreover, the good quality oregano can be strong enough to almost numb the tongue. Its chemical compounds include carvacrol, thymol, linalool and so. On the other hand, factors such as climate, season and soil composition can affect the available aromatic oils. The plant is widely used in Mediterranean Basin and Latin American cuisines, especially Mexican cuisine and Argentine cuisine.
Essential oil of Oregano is mainly composed of carvacrol. Carvacrol is such a powerful chemical compound. Therefore, it has been the focus of more than 800 scientific studies.
